Sessions

February 8, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm

$12

We’ve got another great line-up of music for your listening pleasure. As always, it’s BYOB. And bring a pot luck dish to share as well, if you’d like.

Here’s the full line-up:

6:30 – Joe Stein

Joe Stein is a singer who accompanies himself on the keys, often creating his own arrangements of a wide range of rock, pop, folk, jazz, and R&B songs and infusing both older and more contemporary music with his own unique spin. He also plays the trumpet, often sitting in with variety of local bands in the Shoreline music scene, and he plays 1st trumpet in the Yale Medical Symphony Orchestra. Joe lives with his wife and daughter in Branford, where he teaches in the public school system.

7:00 – Tony Regets

They say that music is the language of the soul, and nothing could be truer for me. Music has the power to transport us to another time and place. I love to harness that power with a broad audience of fellow music lovers, passionate family & friends and fans alike.

7:30 – Joe’s House

Joe Cavanagh shares his solid bass line along with his cozy practice space. Ken Hickmott brings his sweet guitar to us from across the pond. Pete Magnotti adds yet another musical group to his drumming roster. Donna Pecoraro coming out of the shadows to add some sweet melodies.

8:00 – Rhonda Larson

Rhonda Larson is a Grammy Award-winning player of the flute, born and raised in the mountains of Montana.

Composing much of her own music, Larson’s visionary force showcases her gold flute and an array of ethnic flutes in a new and refreshing light. Rhonda has also expanded the sonic capabilities of her instrument with entirely new techniques, most notably her inventive flute-and-voice unison, performed simultaneously.

Rhonda tours world-wide, and has a discography of over 20 commercial recordings, including three solo recordings. She is a past member of the Paul Winter Consort and now leads her own band, Ventus.

8:30 – Break

9:00 – Repeat Offenders

Based on the Connecticut Shoreline, the Repeat Offenders deliver a gritty blend of roots music – vintage blues, country, and rock – all in their own inimitable style. Core Offenders Barry Felson (guitar and lead vocals); Ken Hickmott (lead guitar & vocals); Tony Cafiero (keyboards); Peter Menta (harp, washboard & vocals) and Pete Magnotti (drums) are joined by a cast of friends on bass and other instruments.

9:30 – Living With Robots

Sandy Connolly (vocals, guitar) and Ted Ervin (bass, vocals) play a blend of blues, rock, and Americana. Dave Golden (keyboard player) and Gary Parrington (drums) will be sitting in with us this night! They cover The Wood Brothers, Lucinda Williams, Rickie Lee Jones, Gretchen Wilson, Fiona Apple, and Tom Waits.

10:00 – Nosmo Kings

The Nosmo Kings – are a highly entertaining quartet featuring Richard Pitts on guitar and vocals, John Jarvis on bass, Fred Bova on pedal steel guitar, and Lee deLisle on mandolin and occasional hand percussion.

These boys are all about old school rock and roll with a little bit of country thrown in on the side. Fans across the shoreline have been heard screaming “make them stop…”

Come see for yourself!10
