The Music Loft teaches voice, piano and theory to all ages! We would like a Lesson Prep Assistant to help with preparation and curriculum development two mornings each week for a total of 2-4 hours per week.

Candidates should:

• Be able to read sheetmusic at the piano and play melodies and chords
• Know all key signatures
• Know how to write rhythms
• Be able to listen to a song and figure out what key it’s in
• Be able to transpose sheet music and MP3s using our in-house software – Sibelius and Mixcraft (we will train on the software)
• Know and understand modes

Fill out the form below to set up a time to come in and take a theory test which will be comprised of:

1. Identifying 10 key signatures
2. Play a melody on the piano from sheetmusic provided
3. Play chords on the piano from sheetmusic provided
4. Clap and count 3 rhythms of four bars each.
5. Listen to 5 songs and identify their key signatures
6. Transpose 8 bars from one key to another
