We are delighted to welcome John Hurley as Assistant Teacher and Guitar Instructor at Crescendo Music Loft. Some of you will recognize John as our “Staff Sergeant.” He has worked quietly and diligently in the background at Crescendo making tracks and charts for students, even correcting homework at times.
John is a Berklee-trained guitarist from Bridgeport. He plays with several groups in Connecticut, the most noteworthy being Red Planet which does a straight-up, no-nonsense jam that covers a variety of classic tunes from The Dead, Dylan, and The Band to Johnny Cash and other roots-based, country-fied, Americana-type, standards.
John has been observing lessons on designated days, and we are now opening up his schedule so he could be at any lesson! While he is a very accomplished musician John is learning the Crescendo Music System of teaching. He is now taking his own guitar students and helping out in piano and voice lessons.
We look forward to all of you meeting and working with John in the coming weeks and months.
Meanwhile, please enjoy this drawing of John by Ruari Clark.

Yes, your work with students is VERY important. Teaching music “is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world” (B.B. King). You have changed mine!
