Sessions

November 9, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm

We’ve got another great line-up of music for your listening pleasure. As always, it’s BYOB. And bring a pot luck dish to share as well, if you’d like.

Here’s the full line-up:

6:30 — Mary Mellilo

Singer/songwriter and fourth generation entertainer Mary Melillo grew up singing and performing with her family at all types of events throughout the tri-state area. She received a scholarship to the Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven, where she studied classical and jazz music. Her hope is to bring love and joy to others through her music. Mary performs blues, soul, funk, jazz, standards, R&B, top 40s. Mary and the Love Machines look forward to playing Sessions.

7:00 — Joe’s House

Joe Cavanagh shares his solid bass line along with his cozy practice space. Ken Hickmott brings his sweet guitar to us from across the pond. Pete Magnotti adds yet another musical group to his drumming roster. Donna Pecoraro coming out of the shadows to add some sweet melodies.

7:30 — Mame & Co. Featuring Joe Montalto

Mame & Company is an eclectic mix of musicians who each keep Mame Wells company on a wide variety of music including classic rock, blues, country and more. The combination of Joe Montalto and Mame are fond of the blues, both classic and southern rock, and covers of some interesting new artists they’ll tell you about, too!

8:00 — Harley Claire

Harley Claire recently moved back to the area and is ready to break into the local music scene. She will be performing songs by some of her favorite artists with Jonathan Bishop (bass), Phil Palmisano (percussion) and Rick Gregoire (guitar). They are all very excited to hear other musicians and perform at Crescendo.

8:30 — DW Ditty

DW Ditty is a seasoned performer on the Connecticut scene. He is fun, serious and entertaining to hear. With a voice that is smooth and raspy at the same time, it makes sense to spend some of your Saturday evening with him.

9:00 — Living With Robots

Sandy Connolly (vocals, guitar) and Ted Ervin (bass, vocals) play a blend of blues, rock, and Americana. Tony Cafiero (not a robot keyboard player) will be sitting in with us this night! They cover The Wood Brothers, Lucinda Williams, Rickie LeeJones, Gretchen Wilson, Fiona Apple and Tom Waits.

9:30 — Repeat Offenders

Based on the Connecticut Shoreline, the Repeat Offenders deliver a gritty blend of roots music – vintage blues, country, and rock – all in their own inimitable style. Core Offenders Barry Felson (guitar and lead vocals); Ken Hickmott (lead guitar & vocals); Justin Paglino (keyboards & vocals); Peter Menta (harp, washboard & vocals) and Pete Magnotti (drums) are joined by a cast of friends on bass and other instruments.

10:00 — Knuckleheads

Put three good friends/musicians together, mix in some drums and keys and what do you get? The equivalent of one dumb guy. Or, as we like to call ourselves, The Knuckleheads. Ted Ervin, Tom Knapp, and Steve Plaziak will be joined this month by Joe Pecoraro and David Golden. So get ready for some instrumental funk and blues for our latest installment at Sessions! Fun fact: when we play in Canada we go by Canuckleheads.
